Spencer turns 2!

Sooooo, I've had this blog up and running for close to a few months now thinking I really  need to do something with it but always put it off.  Imagine that.  As all two of you that read my blog will find out if you don't already know, I'm the biggest procrastinator ever.  Something I should work on.

The most recent happening with the Kerr's is this little guy turned 2!

We didn't do anything too special.  I reserved the Blocher room at the library.  I'd rather have the mess there than in my house!  We had the grandparents and few of the kids' friends.  I found most of the decorations at the Dollar Tree!  Of all places!  I was looking for something bright, not necessarily a theme but something perfect for a two year old boy.

The ginormous cupcakes with dipped pretzel sticks.

I was a little nervous about bringing my apothecary jars with little kids around but I brought them home safe and sound!  Plus they looked so stinkin' cute with the candy in them!

There was this cake that I had come across several time in blogland and I was bound and determined to make it for Spencer.  Some recipes were too detail oriented and others not so much.  As I mentioned previously--right up there on the left hand side of my page----okay, now go to the end of my "about me", see it? I don't like to cook!  And may I ask who says just because you're married with a family you should LIKE to cook?!  Now, I didn't say I don't cook, I just don't like to.  Ahhhhh, now that I have that off my chest let's get back to the cake shall we?

I didn't really follow any particular recipe that's why I'm surprised it actually turned out and it was edible!  It's called a rainbow cake.

All the purdy layers.

For a little pop of color and because the white icing was so blah I added some M&M's.

And there she is. Perfection.

Okay, so he dove into his ice cream first.  See it up by his eye?

On his new tricycle.

So that's what we did this past weekend.---- They say kids grow too fast and this is so true. We have more than enjoyed having him in our lives these past few years. Everything he does makes us laugh and he knows it!    I'm still looking out for the terrible two's though.  They might just pass him up.  He's such a good little guy!  He's definitely doing all kinds of new things.  He loves to get himself undressed, diaper and all.  I really think his favorite thing is being naked! Loves to brush his own teeth.  He is a little confused between the trash can and the hamper.  On several occasions I've found trash in the hamper. Ha!  His newest thing is " I lub woo."  Brylee & Chase make him say it constantly because they think it's so cute!

And speaking of Spencer...I'll do a post later this week about his U-G-L-Y toybox!
